NEW ART SCHOOL FOR CARDIFF. TO BE ESTABLISHED ON HERKOMER LINES.
It is with pleasure that we hear that Mr R Morton Nance, third son of Mr. W Edwin Nance, of Penarth, is about to open an art school at Cardiff, after the fashion of that established by Professor Herkomer at Bushey. . . . . .
Breaking news? Well it was in November 1896! This article and many others (including reviews of exhibitions at Cardiff School of Art) can now be accessed online. Welsh Newspapers Online was launched last week as part of The National Library of Wales and partners project – The Theatre of Memory .
“The Theatre of Memory: Welsh Print Online will make the printed record of Wales and the Welsh freely available, to be searched and read by anyone on the internet …the aim of the programme is to digitise as much as possible of the printed material published in Wales and about Wales and the Welsh people. This information will be made freely available and easily findable to anyone with an internet connection – giving Wales and the Welsh an enhanced online identity on a world-wide stage.”
Four major projects are underway:
