New Library System

NEW SYSTEM

In March 2016, Cardiff Met will be implementing a brand new Library Management System (LMS) for the university.  Staff and students will benefit from a top of the range library portal that will improve functionality for users to search, browse and access the library collections of Cardiff Met.

DATES FOR YOUR DIARIES

Easter vacation loan dates:

2 day loans: date issued from Fri 4th March –

date to be returned Fri 15th April

1 week loans: date issued from Fri 4th March –

date to be returned Fri 15th April

3 week loans: date issued from Fri 19th February –

date to be returned Fri 15th April

FINE AMNESTY:

As part of the preparation for the new system the library has a fine amnesty between Monday 29th February and Thursday 10th March. During this period fines on all returned overdue items will be waived.

SELF-SERVICE

The library self-service machines will be out of service from the 11th – 15th March.

RESERVATIONS AND RENEWALS
You will not be able to reserve or renew any items, online or at the helpdesks, between the 9th and 15th March.

ACCESSING RESOURCES

You will still have access to all e-resources, on and off campus, and you will still be able to issue and return books at the helpdesks throughout the transition. However, if you need to issue, return or renew an item, we would encourage you to do so before 11th March or after 15th March. If you do issue or return items during these dates, it will have to be done manually by a member of library staff, so could take a little longer than normal!
