Staff are cordially invited to a preview of the ‘new’ Llandaff Learning Centre.
Now that the Cardiff School of Art and Design collection has been fully integrated with the previous Llandaff stock it will be a chance for you to familiarise yourself with the new locations of the books and journals and DVD’s and the Slide Collection. Also, you will be able to view the additional facilities which have been developed for researchers and students such as the Special Collections room where we house the Ceramics archive and Artists Books Collection.
Just drop in any Wednesday afternoon between 2pm and 4pm in July, for a tour of the building with one of the Library staff.
Inductions in the new year will incorporate tours for new students

- The Social Learning Lounge at Llandaff Library
Warming up the cold post-Christmas weeks, librarians at Llandaff Library hosted a cheerful informal chat and catch up event with Llandaff academics. Plied with hot drinks and Welsh cakes, academic staff and librarians alike were interested to find out more about the wealth of information resources at Cardiff Metropolitan.
The purpose of the event was to strengthen links between the library and academic departments and get to know academics face-to-face. We developed a greater appreciation of heavy academic workloads of teaching and research commitments. And being librarians, even assisted with a couple of queries. It was also a chance to showcase our professionalism and commitment in striving to ensure the library continues to be relevant and essential to both students and staff at Cardiff Metropolitan.
